What is your “why”? How do you build a strong political profile — and why is it essential to understand your purpose as a political actor?

These questions were at the centre of a recent seminar on political communication and branding, organised by DLDP’s partner, the Liberal Institute Skopje, which brought together young politicians from across North Macedonia.

Iben Krog from Venstre participated in the seminar and shared her experience from Danish politics on how to identify and communicate one’s “why” — the purpose that provides direction, relevance, and impact in political work.

DLDP supports initiatives like this because strong and thoughtful political communication is a key element of a well-functioning democracy. When young politicians gain clarity about what they stand for and how they communicate it, they become more effective representatives — strengthening both their own leadership and the democratic societies they are part of.
